“Hey everyone! I’m Jessica and I’m the owner of Jessica Lisi Events. For today’s VLOG I was thinking about talking to you really should expect from your wedding planner. Now, every wedding planner offers different things to their clients, and that’s understandable, but the core should really be the same. So, although this VLOG is very short and very sweet, it should still tell you exactly what you should be getting from your wedding planner. First and foremost: turnaround time. Whether your wedding planner is contacting you through email, text or phone call, they should be getting back to you within 24 hours. Whether it’s the busiest time of year or our “quiet season,” that is a MUST. If they’re not getting back to you within 24 hours, they’re not the wedding planner for you. My apologies to any wedding planners out there that are not getting back to their clients, that wasn’t my intent, but I make sure that even if I have to email my clients back at 2am, they’re still getting contact back within 24 hours of contacting me. Secondly, any vendor that you hire, any planner that you hire, should have vendors at their fingertips. Whether it be to recommend to you or in case of an emergency. Now, I’ve stated it in past VLOGs before but I’ll state it again, make sure your wedding planner does not take kickbacks. The vendors that they are recommending to you, or that they have in their back pocket, are going to be there because of those vendors experience, because of their merit, and because of the type of person that they are, the type of business that they hold. Don’t allow any wedding planner to give you anything less than amazing vendors because you deserve the best for your wedding and for your event. Last, but not least, their simple payment structure. Every wedding planner, every vendor actually, should have a very simple payment schedule. Ours, for example, $200 non-refundable deposit on the day that you sign the contract, then the remaining money split by 50/50. 50% is due a month before your event and the remaining two to three days before the event.
