“Hey everyone. It’s Jessica here from Jessica Lisi Events. For today’s VLOG, I wanted to talk to you about the difference between an Onsite Coordinator and an Independent Wedding Planner. I’m an Independent Wedding Planner. Now, please do not think that this is a VLOG at all designed to insult Onsite Coordinators. They are truly needed for any event. They know the ins and outs of their venue, and are extremely important to have, but don’t do what Independent Wedding Planners do. So I wanted to talk to you and really explain to you the difference between an Onsite Coordinator and an Independent Wedding Planner because I get this question a lot of the time. So, an Onsite Coordinator knows the ins and outs of their venue better than anyone. I could work at the same venue 20, even 50 times, but that Onsite Coordinator will still know more about that venue than I ever will. They have the knowledge and the ability to handle exactly what’s happening at that venue but their responsibilities and concerns are solely about the venue. Now, they don’t handle anyone else, whether that be your DJ or band, or your photographer. They only handle what you’ve hired them for, so if they are supplying you with any drinks or alcohol or food, they are handling that. If they are supplying you with tables and chairs, or staff, that is their concern. Anything outside of what you hired them for, they don’t handle. For example, they will discuss with you food options, your table settings, where your guests will be sitting and how many guests at each table, things like that. Now, an Independent Wedding Planner does that, and more. So when I said your Onsite Coordinator does not handle your photographer or all of your other vendors, your Independent Wedding Planner does. They make sure that all of your vendors are doing exactly what they’re supposed to be doing, not just the Captain of your venue, but as well as your photographer, making sure that they’re where they’re supposed to be, doing what they’re supposed to be and at what time so everything runs smoothly. An Independent Wedding Planner really is the extra security that you want for your big day, almost like your insurance. We make sure that if anything goes wrong, you don’t hear about it because we’re handling it. I’ve had weddings where the hair and makeup people didn’t show up, or the photographer cancelled last minute. I make sure that if that were to happen, my backup roaster is ready and willing and able to come to your wedding and do exactly what needs to be done, and you won’t even know about it until the end of the night or the next day. That is the Independent Wedding Planners job. We know what to do to make sure you enjoy your day without having to worry about the where, the who, the how, or the why. We do it all for you. If you check out our website, www.jessicalisievents.com, it will show you exactly what we offer with our day of coordination to show you really the difference between an Onsite Coordinator and an Independent Wedding Planner. As always we do offer initial free consultations so check us out and let us hear everything about your wedding. Congratulations and have a great day!”
